A Masterful trainer, Certified Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Prevention Advocate, specializing in Trauma Awareness, Teen Dating Violence, Healthy Relationships, developing youth to be Peer Advocates and Safety Partners.

Kandee has received numerous awards & honors including the 2019 Community Advocate, 2018 Hope Award, 2017 Women of the Year in Education, and the 2017 Vanguard’s Most Influential African American’s In Los Angeles.

Kandee has served on Compton’s Education Task Force, L.A. City Attorney’s Domestic Violence Round Table, L.A. Mayor’s Human Trafficking Portal, Harbor Area Planning Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles, and on Harbor Gateway North Neighborhood Council. Kandee was born & raised in Los Angeles.

Yvette Lopez-Ledesma is the Urban to Wild Director at The Wilderness Society, a national conservation organization. She and her team work on developing partnerships, policy advocacy and provide program support to advance equitable access to parks and open space in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Albuquerque. Mrs. Lopez-Ledesma is a resident of Arleta, an urban planner by training and has over 16 years of work and volunteer experience pursuing her interests in social justice, policy, advocacy, sustainability and community planning.
