Global Alcohol Policy Conference 2015


More than 400 delegates from 55 countries gathered in Edinburgh, Scotland for the Global Alcohol Policy Conference (GAPC) entitled Momentum for change: research and advocacy reducing alcohol harm.


State AGs to Phusion: Reduce Alcohol Content

Earlier this month, 17 state attorneys general sent a letter to Phusion Products LLC, calling for the producer to lower the high alcohol content in Four Loko products.


MBTA reconsiders alcohol ad ban

Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MTBA) officials recently heard from transit ad conglomerate Intersection (newly-merged Titan360 and Control Group) about ways to close the agency's $242 million deficit. One of those revenue-generating ideas? Reversal of the MBTA voluntary ban on alcohol advertisements.

Chuck E. Cheese has expanded its offerings from sugary drinks, pizza, and arcade games to alcohol. The chain has reported a decline in sales in recent years, and alcohol sales is its response. In offering more alcohol options, it hopes alcoholic drinks will entice Millennial moms to bring their young children to the kiddie restaurant more often, for more than the annual birthday party.
