Alcohol Justice

20 Dec 2024

The California Alcohol Policy Alliance (CAPA) convened its pivotal final meeting of the year in November, engaging in dialogue with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).

This quarterly tradition seeks to address the issues impacting our member’s and partners’ communities across the state. ABC has taken initiatives to work hand in hand with communities through their Community Relations programs, engaging stakeholders and local neighborhood groups.

Among the various topics discussed, the impact of new laws emerging from the state capitol and the adaptive changes to the Responsible Beverage Service training program created in 2017 was particularly significant. Recently appointed Director Joseph McCullough also provided a comprehensive overview of their policing services and the results that improve our communities.

As CAPA, we eagerly anticipate the continuation of our collaboration in 2025 as we strive to advance our mission to reduce the harm caused by alcohol that impacts our communities across the state.

On behalf of CAPA—we wish everyone a happy & safe holiday season!
